There Goes Our Love Again
Screen Print
19"x13.5", ed 19
2014

This work reflects on migration's emotional and psychological impact. People are forced to leave loved ones behind in pursuit of economic opportunity or survival, causing a sense of loss and emotional rupture. The title, "There Goes Our Love Again," references the cyclical nature of separation and longing—a recurring disruption of intimate relationships.

The two golden skulls with red metallic outlines facing one another symbolize an enduring connection in the face of absence. They suggest a shared history and mutual recognition despite physical and temporal distance.

The layered and vibrant background—composed of radiating forms, gestural marks, and bursts of color—serves as a visual metaphor for the emotional turbulence of displacement and the resilience and complexity of this situation.

This work speaks to the universal human cost of migration: the fragmentation of families, the persistence of love across space and time, and the psychological toll of existing between worlds.
